Description: A fabulous and unusual 19th Century marble top giltwood single leg console or pier table, finely hand carved, of neat proportions and of exceptional quality. The striking moulded Carrara White serpentine fronted marble top of rectangular form is raised over shaped and pierced frieze featuring an exquisite arrangement of centred stylised acorn cabochon, foliate and ruffle motif detail set within interlocking scrolls flanked with richly scrolling acanthus leaves, finely carved in high relief. Supported on elegantly tapering moulded cabriole leg profusely decorated with further scroll, foliate, leaves and beautifully detailed flowerhead motifs throughout.
