Description: A very rare Georgian Irish well figured mahogany flip top occasional table of exceptional quality, finely hand carved with beautifully rich patination and fine grain. The moulded top of circular form features an exquisitely carved pie crust edge and is fitted with a tilting mechanism that allows its top to be positioned in upright orientation. The elegantly simple reverse tapering ring turned columnar pod is finely carved with a gorgeous arrangement of acanthus leaf motif detail in low relief above trefoil base with gracefully tapering out-splayed legs featuring futher arrangements of decorative stippling, acanthus, foliate, scroll and leaf motif detail, terminating on elegant pad foot.
