Description: A stunning early 19th Century Regency well figured mahogany tea table of exceptional quality and of a classically simple design. This gorgeous piece is finely hand carved with beautifully rich patination and grain, the moulded hinged top with reeded edge is of D-end form and folds back to reveal the tea table above an elegant panelled frieze featuring a centred plaque flanked with a series of longer panels. Supported on a fabulous ring turned columnar pod above quatrefoil base with gracefully tapering outswept and reeded sabre legs with decoratively carved acanthus leaf motif detail on knee, terminating on well cast brass lion paw toe caps and casters.
