Description: A very rare and unusual 19th Century pair of giltwood marble top pier cabinets, finely hand carved and of exceptional quality. The striking moulded Carrara White marble top of rectangular form is raised over an elegantly simple moulded, fluted and panelled frieze with intricately detailed hand carved wreaths of foliate flanked with applied flowerhead paterae. Raised over a single glazed glass panelled door which opens to a beautiful deep red lined interior, flanked with a pair of stylised fluted corinthian columns with decorative scroll motif detail. The cabinet features a further pair of single glazed glass panelled sides and is supported on a moulded and fluted platform base, terminating on ball foot.
