Description: A stunning 19th Century gilt bronze mantle clock by Richond of Paris, stamped by the maker H & F and is of exceptional quality. The finely cast gilt bronze clock in the Neoclassical manner features a fabulous gilt bronze modelled dial of circular form housed in a glass case with gorgeous foliate, lambs tongue and beaded row motif detail and features thirteen individual white enamel cartouches, twelve with the time keeping in roman numerals in black and one with the retailers signature 'Richond of Montmartre, Paris'. The dial is flanked with elegant scroll and foliate supports to the sides and a laurel swag is draped below the dial. Surmounted with an exquisite composition of a delicate bow a Neoclassical urn with a pineapple finial, supported on a shaped platform base with gorgeous foliate, leaf and flowerhead motifs, terminating on bun foot.
